Upgrading your Ultimate Affiliate program

Version 2+:

If you are upgrading from a previous 2.00 or higher version, all you need to do is copy the following files over the ones in your cgi-bin directory:

admin.cgi
signup.cgi
sale.cgi
stats.cgi
clickthru.cgi
common.cgi

The config.cgi file should not be copied over as that will delete your configuration information and you would have to reconfigure the script from scratch.

When you copy the common.cgi file over the one on your server and run admin.cgi it will prompt you for your mysql info again - this will reconfigure or change the database to adhere to the requirements of the new version. After you configure the mysql again the program should be up and running.

If you have customized the program, or are using any of the peripheral scripts (getcookie.cgi, etc...) you will also have to upgrade those scripts and make the appropriate changes. Changes to these peripheral scripts will be mentioned on the upgrade page as well.

Previous MySQL versions to Version 2+:

If you are running a non-versioned script (the script did not have a version number prior to 2.00) you will have an additional step from the instructions above.

In the /extras/Upgrade_old_mysql_version_to_new/ folder of the zip file you'll find a script called transfer.cgi. You must upload this script to your cgi-bin directory containing the affiliate scripts, chmod it 755, and run it ONCE from your browser, then delete the file.

This is necessary to import the "hit" data from the old system into the new tables used in versions 2.00 and higher.

Old text version to Version 2+:

Because of the new data table structures in Version 2.00 on, you will have to contact me (smiles@groundbreak.com) for instructions on how to import the old text data into the new system.
